NHLPA: National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act of 2000

USCG: U.S. Coast Guard

District: U.S. Coast Guard District responsible for a particular light station

GSA: General Services Administration

DOI: Department of the Interior

NPS: National Park Service

NHPA: National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)--(parent law to NHLPA)

Section 106: Section of NHPA dealing with requirements for government undertakings involving historic properties

NEPA: National Environmental Policy Act--may be studied in conjunction with NHPA requirements

Regular Disposal: through General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Property Disposal

ROE: Report of Excess--Coast Guard report to GSA of property excess to service requirements. This will include information about known cooperating groups or lease holders.

SHPO: State Historic Preservation Office--office of the state chief of historic preservation. Oversees Section 106

Notice of Availability (NOA): GSA paperwork package with information about property

Expression of Interest: communication from all parties to GSA of interest in acquiring property
